Mary Alice Jacks' Obituary
Mary Alice McChristy Jacks was born on November 26, 1931 in Terrell, Texas and passed away on November 1, 2014 in Mount Pleasant, Texas. She is preceded in death by her son, Dennis Mark Curtis and parents, Caleb William McChristy and Pearl Garrett McChristy. Mary made her management career in the apartment industry in the Dallas area for more than 20 years. She was very much a people person, enjoyed visiting with family and friends and making people feel as comfortable as she could make them. Mary loved dancing and even fishing, especially with her brother Raymond. She loved country and sacred music as well as cooking — she was always trying new recipes. In fact now everyone is wondering who will make Mary’s famous peach cobbler. With a tender caring heart, she often looked after those who were older and in need. Mary loved to laugh. She kept her wit, sarcasm and true Southern charm, including that famous wink, until the end. Nothing, however, was a greater source of pride than her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, William Seborn Jacks; children, Marilyn Ferguson of Carrollton, William Bryant Curtis of Mesquite and Diana Tompkins of The Colony; grandchildren, Alicia Watson, Mark Curtis, Matthew Curtis, John Curtis, Jenny Winkelmann, Misty Curtis, Jesse Curtis, Jennifer Arrambide and Brittany Arrambide; great-grandchildren, Alyssa Watson, Jordan Watson, Kiera Watson, Jordan Curtis, Colby Curtis, Dylan Curtis, Austin Curtis and Samantha Curtis. The visitation for Mary will be on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Restland Funeral Home. The graveside service for Mary will be on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at 2:00pm at Restland Memorial Park. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75238
