JONES, MARY HELEN (ALEXANDER) born March 27, 1930 in Wichita Falls, TX and passed away August 18, 2010 in Dallas, TX. Born in Wichita Falls, TX on March 27, 1930 to John W. and Lula Mae Alexander, went to be with her Lord on August 18, 2010 in Dallas, TX. She began her education at B.F. Darrell Elementary School and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School. After graduation, Mary attended Houston Tillotson College where she received her Bachelors Degree in Sociology and continued to Texas Womans University obtaining a Masters Degree in Counseling and Guidance. She also received special training at East Texas State University to become a certified ESL teacher for the DISD. Mary retired from teaching and counseling in May of 1990. During her membership at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, she was Director of Christian Education, a Sunday School teacher, and a member of the Board of Trustees. Mary was also a Seminar Leader at the National Baptist Congress of Christian Education, Youth Instructor at the BM&E State Congress of Christian Education, Instructor of Mission Studies at the Northwestern District Baptist Association, newly elected Dean of the Northwestern District Congress of Christian Education and a member of the Eta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Mary was predeceased by her parents; husband, Roosevelt Jones; brothers, John Jr. and Don Ray Sr. and nephews, Michael and Don Ray Jr. Mary Helen leaves a host of nieces and nephews and numerous cousins. Services will be held at 12:30PM, Friday, August 27, 2010 at Restland Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be from 6:00PM – 8:00PM, Thursday at Restland Funeral Home.
