Mary Allison Kearney Dunford's Obituary
Allison was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma April 28, 1939 to Richard and Mary “Red” Kearney and passed away on November 9, 2010 at Baylor Hospital in Dallas, Texas after a lengthy battle with breast cancer. Allison attended secondary school in Tulsa, Milwaukee, and Oklahoma City until she graduated from Northwest Classen High School in 1957. She attended college at OSU and was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority. She married William H. Dunford on August 27,1961 in Oklahoma City. She retired from Lucent Technologies/AT&T in Mesquite, Texas in 2000.She was preceded in death in 1982 by her son, Scott William Dunford and is survived by her husband of 49 years, William H. Dunford and daughter Stacey Dunford Mason and husband Eric of Plano. She is the beloved grandmother “Mama” of Scott, Chandler, Noah, and Emma Mason. Allison is also survived by her older brother, Denis Kearney and wife Elizabeth, of Roswell, Georgia; younger brother, Richard F. Kearney, II and wife Gail of Santa Clarita, California; younger sister, Kathleen Fortenbury and husband Ed of Frisco, Texas and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews. Allison was a faithful member of St. Marks Methodist Church for approximately 39 years, serving on Memorial Committee, church secretary and other areas in the church. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family. In lieu of flowers the family requests that you make donations to the American Cancer Society or Texas Oncology at Baylor Hospital, Dallas Texas. Services will be held 12:30pm on Friday November 12 at Restland Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be held from 10:00am to 12:00pm prior to the service, with burial following.
