Mary Lou Lewis' Obituary
Mary Lou Sessions Lewis was born in Cartersville, Georgia on January 5, 1934. She passed away peacefully on October 3rd, 2020. Mary Lou grew up in Cartersville, Georgia and moved to Dallas in 1949, where she attended Highland Park High School. After graduation, she attended Stephens College and the University of Oklahoma where she was a member of the Phi Mu Sorority. Mary Lou met her husband, Ralph, in Midland Texas, where she taught school, and Ralph worked in the oil industry. They were married in Dallas in 1957. Mary Lou was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, where she served as Regent, Vice Regent, Chaplain and Registrar. She was honored in 2016 with a 50-year certificate of service. She was also affiliated with the Assistance League of Dallas, the Lillie Sessions Foundation, and numerous other charitable and social clubs.
Mary Lou is preceded in death by her parents, Hoyt M Sessions Sr. and Ann Sessions, and her husband, Ralph R Lewis. She is survived by her daughter, Anne Irene Jewell (and her husband Jim) her son, William Hoyt Lewis (Bill) (and his wife Martha), and her daughter, Mary Evelynne Rush (Lynne). She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Jillianne Jewell, Dillon Lewis (and his wife Ashley), Vivianne Fernandez (and her husband Timothy), Arianne Jewell, Sara Krischke (and her husband Garrett), William Rush, Alexander Rush, Matthew Rush, and many family members and friends. Mary Lou made a difference in our lives and many others that she touched. She will be missed by all.
