Mary was born on October 10, 1939, in Highland, Kansas, to Elmo Wills and Elsie (Hughes) Wills. She married Raymond Logston in 1955 in Kansas City, Missouri, later making a final move to Texas in 1974. There, they built a full and lively life, raising five children: Kim, Damon, Lisa, Charlie, and Nancy. Mary devoted herself wholeheartedly to her family, creating a home marked by warmth and stability.
A homemaker for most of her life, Mary lived out her calling with grace. She took pride in keeping a welcoming, spotless home and maintained routines that grounded the people she cared for. Her home was often the gathering place—steady, safe, and filled with the unmistakable feeling of being loved.
Mary was a woman of deep and steady Christian faith. She completed the full program of Bible Study Fellowship, something she was deeply proud of, and she carried her faith quietly but firmly into her everyday life. She saw the best in people, forgave freely, and consistently offered support, even in times when it was difficult to do so. Her family remembers her as someone with a pure heart, a gentle spirit, and a sense of humor that could rise even in the midst of challenges.
Though she loved being home, Mary also loved a good adventure. Once she was out the door, she was fully in—roller coasters, scary movies, spontaneous trips, anything that brought her family together. The family will never stop bragging how Mary could beat Donkey Kong and Zelda on Nintendo 64. And at home, that same fun spirit showed up as she can-canned in the kitchen making macaroni and cheese or tried out the newest dance trends from social media. When Mary laughed her entire face lit up, she was the best person to have fun with.
In recent years, Mary embraced the quieter pleasures of life at home with her daughter Nancy. Mary and her daughter loved checking in on the neighborhood donkeys, cruising in her drop top Volkswagen Bug, grabbing a bite to eat, watching TV, and spending time with her beloved dog, Sebastian. She adored him, and he brought her steady comfort and joy.
Those who loved her will always remember her as devoted, generous, supportive, and unwaveringly kind. She raised not only her children, but helped raise her grandchildren and others along the way, offering stability, affection, and strength wherever it was needed. To her family, she was an anchor—faithful, forgiving, and full of love.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; her children, Kim, Lisa, and Damon; her brother, Bud; her sister, Charlotte; and her grandchildren, Jason and Shawna.
She is survived by her children, Nancy and Charlie; her sisters, Nan, Elaine, and Betty; her brother, Bill; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, extended family members, and friends who loved her deeply.
