Mary Xian-Gui Ma's Obituary
On January 22, 1933, a remarkable life began— a beautiful, intelligent, and capable girl came into this world. She was our mother. Throughout 92 years, you gave us the gift of life, filled our days with happiness, and left us with cherished memories.
Looking back on your journey: at seventeen, you joined the naval forces, serving the nation as a linguistic envoy and translator, dedicating your talents to your country. In the years that followed, you worked tirelessly in ordinary roles, raising three children and nurturing us with unwavering care as we grew.
After your retirement, you moved to the United States with your daughter, supporting her aspirations and sharing her burdens. You also gave selflessly as a volunteer, dedicating 24 years to charitable causes. Through every season, without hesitation, you poured your heart into caring for children in need of love—becoming a grandmother to countless young souls. Your selflessness and dedication have inspired so many.
Dear Mother, though you are no longer with us, your children and grandchildren will forever love you. We are eternally grateful that through you, our family’s legacy lives on. May you rest joyfully in heaven. With love, your children pay tribute to you
