Mary Elizabeth Manning's Obituary
Manning, Mary Elizabeth Keehan ~ Known to family and friends as Betty, died Wednesday, May 4, 2011. Betty was born in Dallas, August 19, 1939, the oldest of five children of Thomas F. Keehan and Helen Martin Keehan. She was a devoted mother of two sons, Donald Manning and William Manning and is survived by her son, Don and his wife Debbie; grandchildren, Will, Laura, and Chelsea, and four great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Fran Barry of Atlanta, Jean Gustafson of Rockwall, and Virginia Felts of Dallas and their families. She is survived by her step brother and sister who were well loved family, Pat Mamontov and Mike McGrath as well as numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins, great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Tommy. Betty was a sweet, caring, beautiful woman who was loved by many. Educated at Our Lady of Good Counsel in Dallas and City College in San Antonio she worked as an office manager most of her working life and in retail after retirement. She struggled courageously with poor health for several years but is now at peace with the Lord and with her dear son Billy. That is a great joy. Family and friends will gather for a graveside service Friday May 13, at 10:30 AM at the area known as “Freedom Court” Court of Freedom is in the cemetery area across Walnut St. from the Funeral Home. Go straight in the gates to a mandatory left turn. The court is on the left and has a memorial in the middle and a fence around the perimeter.
