Mary Deen Mansfield's Obituary
Mary Deen Compton Mansfield, affectionately known as M.D., passed into the presence of the Lord on July 20, 2010. M.D. was born September 9, 1934, in Waco to Ayres and Robertine Compton. She graduated from Highland Park High School and attended the University of Texas at Austin and Centenary College in Shreveport. She was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. In 1951 she married Val Walter Mansfield Jr. of Dallas. M.D. is survived by her beloved husband, their children, Val III and wife Cheryl, and Laura Paczewitz and husband Eric, as well as their eight adored grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law Howard and Betty Compton and her beloved sister-in-law and brother-in-law Ann Mansfield Rector and Walter Tucker Rector of Macungie, Pennsylvania. M.D. and Val trusted Christ as their Lord and Savior in 1968 and have walked faithfully with Him every day since. The family wishes to thank the saints at Believers Chapel whose love has been evident by their prayers, cards, calls and meals. Visitation will be Thursday, July 22, 6-8 p.m., at Restland Funeral Home, 9220 Restland Road. A memorial service will be held at Believers Chapel, 6420 Churchill Way, Dallas, Friday, July 23, 11:00 a.m. following a private interment at Restland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be given to Believers Chapel Media Ministry.
