Mary Evelyn Marshall's Obituary
Mary Evelyn Hall Marshall, resident of Richardson, Texas, passed away on October 19, 2024. A lifelong Texan, Mary was born to Richard B. Hall, Jr. and Bonnie Fae Hall (Bleil) in Dallas on August 17th, 1940. Mary was raised alongside her siblings Rex, David, Diana and Kathleen Hall, in Garland.
Known for her outspoken and boisterous personality, Mary was a burst of energy and opinion that left an undeniable mark on all who had the privilege of meeting her.
In 1985, Mary married Stephen Wesley (Wes) Marshall. They were married just shy of 40 years before Wes went home to be with the Lord in 2023.
Mary earned her degree in Psychology from Amberton University in 1987, a testament to her dedication for understanding and helping others. Mary's education and skills only continued to grow after her degree, notably working in the insurance industry, as well as for Texas Instruments, for many years. Her work ethic and skill set went beyond just her occupation. She was also an excellent writer.
Outside of her career, Mary was also a proud, longstanding and active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Mary held the title of Regent in the Jane Douglas chapter for many years, a chapter which proudly touts the title of being the second chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution to exist in the State of Texas.
Mary's passion for serving also extended to her love for dogs. Mary was committed to rescuing and caring for them, namely Shi Tzus, working diligently to provide them with a home they deserved. Working for years with Tzu Zoo rescue, Mary and her late husband fostered and cared for many rescue dogs during their lives.
Mary had a passion for genealogy, dedicating countless hours to uncovering her family’s history. Through her attention to detail and passionate research she was able to weave the story of her family's heritage back for generations. With her research she has left a roadmap for those in the years to come who share her same desire to learn about the history of their ancestors.
Her deep love for Jesus was evident in every aspect of her life, and she found great fulfillment and comfort in her faith.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Richard B. Hall, Jr. and Bonnie Fae Bleil Hall, her husband, Stephen Wesley (Wes) Marshall; her daughters, Mary Angela Hendricks and Judith Christianne Hendricks Day; her brothers, Richard (Rex) Bruce Hall, III and David Lloyd Hall; and her sister, Diana Jeanne Hall Seres.
