Mary Dell McBay's Obituary
Mary Dell McBay, age 92, of Texarkana, Texas went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 4, 2023 after a brief illness.
Mary was born on October 2nd, 1930 to Frank and Maud Hays, in Hope, Arkansas, where she was one of nine children. She married the love of her life, Vernon McBay and they had four children, Dennis, Anita Sue, Michael and Cyndi. They resided in Texarkana until Vernon was transferred to Dallas. They resided in Mesquite, Texas for 53 years. Mary was passionate about reading, gardening, traveling, and studying the Bible. She was ready to engage in a conversation with anyone about Jesus Christ or the Bible and loved attending church services, singing in the choir, and teaching Sunday School for 75 years. Mary worked as a postal worker for the US Postal Service and retired after 28 years.
Mary was met in glory by her husband Vernon McBay and two children, Dennis McBay and Anita Sue Davis, as well as her parents and eight siblings. She is survived by her son, Michael McBay, daughter, Cyndi McBay, and son-in-law Bo Davis and his wife, Debra, her grandchildren, Shawn and Monica Davis, Greg and Marygrace Davis, Michelle and Chad Blackwell and Joshua Cocklin, her great grandchildren, Kameron Davis, Austin Davis, Landon Davis, Kylie Davis, Dean Blackwell, Holden Blackwell, and Phoebe Blackwell, as well as her beloved nieces and nephews, cousins and wonderful friends. She was well loved and will be greatly missed.
Services to celebrate Mary’s life will be held at Restland Funeral Home,13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, Texas 75242 on March 15, 2023 at 10:00 AM with a visitation prior to the funeral.
