Mary Patricia McDonald's Obituary
Mary Patricia (Patty) Grimes Karns McDonald was born on March 21, 1940, in Davenport, Iowa. She passed away on June 30, 2020, after a year-long battle with Leukemia at the age of 80. She graduated from McGinnis High School in Oklahoma City and attended Oklahoma State University, where she was selected "Most Beautiful." She had a real estate career with Ebby Halliday in the Dallas area for over 30 years. She and her husband, Phillip, were residents of Heritage Ranch in Fairview, Texas, since 2013. She is preceded in death by her parents, Richard Grimes and Mildred (Mitzi) Johnson Grimes and her brother, Dick Grimes. She is survived by her husband, Phillip McDonald; a son, Mike Karns and his wife, Valerie Karns; a son, Stephen Karns and his wife, Ana Karns, two brothers, Mike Grimes and Don Grimes; one step-daughter, Megan Roossien and her husband, Nick Roossien; and one step-son, Eric Willett. She is also survived by seven perfect grandchildren: Cannon Karns, Hailey Karns, Gabriel Karns, Eva Karns, Diego Karns, Arie Roossien, and Lilah Roossien. A Celebration of Life will be held at the home of Mike and Valerie Karns, 3828 Turtle Creek Drive, Dallas, Texas 75219, on Wednesday, July 15, 2020, from 1-3 p.m. All are welcome. Dress is casual. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
