Mary Frances "Mema" Cowan's Obituary
Mary Frances “Mema” Cowen, born October 17, 1931 in Whitewright, Texas and passed away May 18, 2019 in Garland, Texas at her home. She married the love of her life on July 4, 1953. Lovingly referred to as Mema and Pepa, Mary and James resided in Garland since 1957. She was a loving wife and mother. After having children, she enjoyed being a stay at home mom where her life revolved around them until her death. She was Baptist by faith, and was most proud of her children’s relationship with the Lord.Preceded in death by her loving husband of almost 60 years, James Cowan, who was her soul mate on Earth and now they are reunited in heaven. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Willie Faye Thornhill, and her 3 brothers and sister.Survived by her son, James Timothy Cowan and wife Janet. Her daughter Pamela Sue Moore and husband, Chuck. She was “Mema” to five grandchildren whom she loved and adored, Jason Cowan and wife Jennifer, Shawn Cowan and wife Jenn, Toni Vaughn and husband Chris, Alexandria Cowan, and Michael Cowan. She also was blessed with five great grandchildren who were the light of her life, Libi Cowan, Timothy Cowan, Jax Cowan, Javery Cowan, and Jake Cowan.No services have been scheduled.
