Mary Alice Mise's Obituary
Mary Alice Mise was born on February 28, 1944 in Sherman, Texas and passed away on June 28, 2016 in Carrollton, Texas. Mary Alice was family oriented and is survived by her husband, Don, three children and six grandchildren, numerous relatives and many friends. Mary Alice enjoyed sports, word search, attending music concerts, cross-stitch, piano/keyboard and fishing. She also loved music, reading, spending time at her parent’s lake house and eating out. She graduated from Samuell High School in Dallas and attended East Texas State College in Commerce, TX for two years. She would mark many of her favorite Bible passages. One scripture she especially liked was Isaiah 40:31 “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary and they shall walk, and not faint.” Mary Alice was saved at a very young age and was baptized at Urban Park Baptist Church (Dallas). She participated in several church activities which included playing organ or piano at Town East Baptist Church (Mesquite), and helping her husband Don lead seniors ministry at Fox Avenue Baptist Church (Lewisville). She retired after 20 years of service at Texas Instruments/Raytheon. Earlier, she worked at Philco Credit and Cunningham’s Daycare. Don’s favorite story about her was going backpacking in the Caney Creek Wilderness (Arkansas). They waited in the hot car for about an hour for rain to stop, then got out and put on heavy packs. While stepping on rocks while crossing a stream, she slipped and fell on her back(pack). She couldn’t get up and looked like a turtle flailing about with her arms and legs. Family will receive friends on Friday, July 1, 2016 from 6:00PM – 8:00PM at Temple Baptist Church in Flower Mound. Funeral service will be held at Temple B.C. on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association where a tribute page has been created in honor of Mary Alice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
