Mary Maxine Moore's Obituary
Mary Maxine Bennett Moore was finally reunited with her dear beloved Roger on Monday, April 15th, 2019 when she passed away in her sleep only 5 days after her 94th birthday. It was a reunion that has been eagerly awaited since he passed in 2012.She was born in the small town of Gossett, TX April 10th, 1925 to her parents, Silas and Maggie Bennett. She was eventually the oldest sister of 9 other siblings. The family moved around Texas quite a bit in the early part of Maxine’s life, but eventually landed in the Dallas area where she attended elementary school and her life took a dramatic turn.At school in the 6th grade, she met a boy. Roger. Even at this incredibly young age, they knew they were meant for each other. That meeting turned into 69 years of marriage and resulted in 9 children, 24 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Her childrens’ names she could recite as easily and quickly as if she was reciting the alphabet. Ricky, Mike, Carol, Patti, Greg, Billy, Mary, Nelda, and David. While Maxine would claim that her job was raising kids, she did hold other jobs over the years. She worked at Southland Corporation for over 5 years and at Fred Florence Middle School as Registrar for over 15 years.Throughout her life, laughter was never missing from Maxine’s house. With such a large family, it was oftentimes chaos, but it was always an incredibly happy place. It remained that way even in her later years. Even after Roger passed away, she was always quick to make sure everyone in her home was fed, comfortable, and wanted for nothing. If things ever got too crazy, she would just laugh and tell you “Behave Lusef!”In her final days, her most concerning question on her mind was asked of one of her sons. She asked the question, “Do you think I have done enough to make Jesus proud of me?” The answer was a resounding ‘yes. Of course you have’.For thousands of friends and family, there is deep sadness that she is gone and overwhelming happiness that she and Roger are finally together again. She will be very sincerely missed by everyone that knew her.Visitation will be held on April 17, 2019, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in Restland Funeral Home’s Memorial Chapel. Funeral service will be held on April 18, 2019, at Case View Assebbley of God at 12:00 pm.
