Mary Alice Mullican's Obituary
Mullican, Mary Alice, lovingly known as “Scottie”, age 85, of Belton, Texas passed away peacefully on 4/30/2012 at Belton, Texas. She was born on 4/10/1927 in Easterly, Texas to her parents, Van Albert Scott and Effie Myrtle Cobb Scott. Scottie married Louie Raymond Mullican in Dallas, Texas on July 10, 1948. They had 3 children. She attended St. Paul Nursing School in Dallas, Texas and graduated with a degree in Nursing in 1947. Scottie was a member of Crossroads Assembly of God in Belton and a former member of Casa View Christian Church in Dallas. Scottie loved her Lord, her family and her friends. A quiet, gentle lady, she will be remembered for her impeccable style, excellent cooking, caring nature and youthful spirit. One of her great joys in life were the many special times with her grandson, Justin. She always looked for the best in each person and every situation and in doing so made a lasting, loving Christian impression on everyone she met. Scottie will be remembered by her loving family, daughter, Marca Scott and son-in-law, Jerry Scott, grandchildren, Justin Scott and Marissa Scott and great-granddaughters Kaitlyn and Jadyn Scott. She is also survived by three sisters, Lynne Shankle of Irving, Texas, Joan Knight of Greensborough, N. Carolina and Joyce Carroll of Pensacola, Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louie Raymond Mullican; two sons Mark and Matthew; two brothers, Ray and Jim and sister, Jean. Visitation will be at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas, Texas from 10-11 a.m. on Thursday, May 3 with a graveside service following at Noon. Memorial services are at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 4, at Crossroads Assembly of God Church in Belton, Texas. In lieu of flowers, Scottie requested memorials be made to: Crossroads Assembly of God Church in care of Pastor Matt Thrasher or Immanuel Lutheran Church Children’s Ministry in care of Pastor Dana Wilhelmsen.
