Mary Lynne Neff's Obituary
NEFF, MARY LYNNE On Tuesday, August 16th, 2011, Mary Lynne Neff went home to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ. Born Mary Lynne Leachman in Bakersfield, California, in 1927, Mary Lynne came to Texas at an early age and resided much of her life in Dallas. At North Dallas High School, she met the love of her life, Charles Robert Neff, with whom she shared 63 years of wedded bliss. Robert preceded her in death recently. Mary Lynne was a beautiful, intelligent and extremely talented woman. A disciplined and highly trained musician, she received a degree in vocal performance from Baylor University (where she was also honored as a “Baylor Beauty”) and later returned to teach piano and voice while pursuing advanced degrees. Her beautiful contralto voice will be missed by many still on Earth, but will be a significant addition to the heavenly choir! Another important aspect of Mary Lynne’s life was her role as Mother. Katherine Lynne, Ronald Merlin and Richard Patrick Neff flourished and came to know the Lord with her nurturing and encouragement. She is also survived by six loving grandchildren, five precious great-grandchildren and a host of wonderful friends. A reception (brunch served) will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, the 20th of August, at Northlake Baptist Church (10110 McCree Road, Dallas, Texas 75238) with a Celebration and Remembrance of Mary Lynne’s life to follow at 11 a.m. in the sanctuary. A private burial service for the family will be held at Restland Memorial Park following the Memorial Service.
