Mary Catherine Nitsos' Obituary
Mary born on February 10, 1924, and came to pass on Monday, October 24, 2016, after a long battle with Parkinson’s. She will be with her most beloved husband Jason, with whom she shared her life of 52 years. She leaves behind her three daughters and three grandchildren who were all the pride and joy of her life, and her brother with whom she had an unbreakable bond. Our mother was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and sister and she will be missed every day of our remaining lives. Her strength in fighting this uphill battle is enviable. She never complained nor questioned why she was dealt this deck of cards. She handled her disease with grace and dignity and continued on with her journey with an abounding love for her family. Her beauty inside and out was never flaunted; her intelligence and perceptiveness were never conspicuously displayed, but her heart of gold was obvious to all who came in contact with her. A sweet kind, loving, loyal, shy understated woman is not enough to describe her. Everyone who came in contact with her loved her. Everyone who came in contact with her admired her. To find a purer, kinder, gentler person will be a feat in itself. Humanity has suffered a great loss and her family will always be grateful to have in their lives. Mom, may you rest in peace and give Dad a big hug and kiss for us. Our love for you is eternal. Funeral services will be held on October 29, 2016 11:00AM at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
