Mary Louise Parker's Obituary
Mary Louise Parker, age 92, of Lewisville, Texas was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven on January 30, 2018, surrounded by her Immediate family. Mary was born on November 8, 1925 in Floyd, Texas to Oscar and Bess Landrum. She was one of 8 children and grew up living on a farm. She often fondly recalled of life during that time – working in the gardens, feeding the chickens (except her father’s particularly ornery rooster), wearing flour sack dresses, and riding on their family mule to school. Mary lived a full life and saw so many changes in our world having lived through the Great Depression, electricity, the mechanization of farms, World War II, a man on the moon, the computer age and many other historic events that occurred during her life. After working several years in various office capacities, she met the love of her life, Maland Parker, and accepted her most important position as a housewife and a mother. Together they welcomed two children, Jan and Ed.Mary was known for her Christian faith, smile, sharp wit, and her willingness to be a friend. Although she was small in stature standing at just 4’11”, she was one of the strongest people you would ever meet She loved her family fiercely and was happiest when she was with them.Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Maland Parker, parents: Oscar and Bess Landrum, sisters Alyne Coker, Marguerite Holland, brothers: Ray Landrum, OB Landrum, Gerald Landrum, and Earl Landrum.Mary is survived by her daughter Jan Parker, son Ed Parker and wife Lynn, grandson Trey Parker, and her sister Bess Eitel, as well as several nieces and nephews.Mary will be greatly missed. We miss her already but have a great peace knowing that she is once again reunited with Maland, and seated at the feet of Jesus. “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and there will no longer be any death; there will not longer be mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.” Revelation 21:4.The family will receive guest on Sunday, February 4, 2018, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM in Restland Funeral Home.Service for Mary will be held on Monday, February 5, 2018, at 3:00 PM in The Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
