Mary Etta Peacock Hall's Obituary
Mary Etta Peacock Hall was born May 29, 1925 in Waco, Texas to Otis Smith Peacock and Ruby Hester (Taylor) Peacock. She resided primarily in Garland, Texas but spent her final years in Mesquite, Texas. She passed away January 12,2019 in Richardson, Texas.She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Clyde William Hall, her daughter Carroll Lynn Ingle, granddaughter Misty Lynne Cruise and great-granddaughter Allison Brooke Connatser, all of Dallas County. As well as two brothers Gene Peacock of Campbell, Texas, Douglas Peacock of Garland, Texas and one sister Dorothy Knowles of Tyler, Texas.Mary Etta is survived by 5 daughters; Neiva Joy Grubbs, Peggy Genell Minter, Mary Charlotte Nevil and husband Ricky, Anna Rebecca Karl and Naomie Ruth Hall, as well as 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, one brother David Peacock and one sister Carol Anderson, as well as numerous nieces and nephewsMary Etta wed Clyde Hall November 11, 1944 in Los Angeles, California while he was stationed at Camp Pendleton with the US Marine Corps. After the war ended, they returned to Lubbock, Texas in 1947 and started their family. After years spent traveling throughout the South Eastern United States while Clyde built churches of Christ for Paden Construction, by 1960 they had settled in Garland and completed their family of six daughters.In addition to raising her children Mary Etta enjoyed many hobbies. She enjoyed Bowling and was a talented Artist serving as President of the Garland Art Club in 1966.In 1973 Mary Etta returned to school to complete her Nurses training and enjoyed a career in Geriatrics. She retired in 1991 and focused on her grandchildren.Mary Etta was a powerful influence on all who knew her and will be profoundly missed.A visitation will be on Friday, January 18, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home. Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 3:00 PM in the Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home.
