Mary Peters' Obituary
Born on September 20, 1938 in Atlantic, Iowa to Georgia M. Harmon and Harold L. Nelson. She spent her childhood in Iowa, and graduated from Lewis (Iowa) High School in 1956. She graduated from Commercial Extension Business School, Omaha, Nebraska in 1958. She was employed at Northern Natural Gas Co. until 1962 when her first child was born. She devoted her fulltime to her family until the children were in high school when she obtained parttime work as an administrative assistant. She became a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Plano, TX in 1969. During her retirement years she volunteered at Network Ministries, Richardson, TX, and volunteered to assist with administrative activities in the Messiah Lutheran Church Music Department. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Edward D. Nelson and infant brother, Lee Roy. Survivors include; husband Richard Peters, daughters Julie Turnbow Martin and her husband Steve of Richardson, TX and Jodie Telg and her husband Ricky of Gainesville, FL; three grandchildren, Stacie Turnbow, Brandon Telg, and Elizabeth Telg.
