Mary Ann Reese's Obituary
Reese, Mary Ann Potts Completed her earthly journey on January 28, 2014 with dignity and courage. She will be greatly missed by the hundreds of loving friends and family who have graciously prayed for strength, comfort, and peace along the way. For this we are forever grateful. The good news is that she knew and her family knows that she now starts her eternal journey with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Mary Ann was born February 27, 1938 to Earl and Alva Potts. She grew up in Dallas and was a proud graduate of Adamson High School, Class of 1956. She then attended North Texas University. On June 27, 1958, she married the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Jay Reese. She was a devoted mother to Kathleen and Leesa and a devoted grandmother. Mary Ann was also a Girl Scout Leader who mentored many young girls. She and her best friend, Jane Colby, were gifted china painters and business partners of the China Belle. She served humbly and wholeheartedly for 35 years in Al-anon with countless fellow travelers. Mary Ann was also a graduate of Bible Study Fellowship’s seven year study. She joyfully worked along side her niece, Yvette Patton, each Christmas season. Mary Ann’s passions in life were spending time with her family, Al-anon, cooking, shopping, gardening, afternoon coffees, and her dog Gracie.
