It is with profound sadness, yet unwavering faith in God's promise of eternal life, that we announce the passing of Mary Kathryn Robinson. Mary Kathryn was a beloved wife, devoted mother, cherished daughter, loving sister, faithful Christian, accomplished professional, and treasured friend whose life was defined by faith, love, strength, and service to others.
Mary Kathryn married the love of her life, Jason Don Robinson (JR), on September 27, 2003. Together, they built a marriage rooted in love, faith, commitment, and devotion to one another. Their greatest blessing was their daughter, Olivia Robinson, whom Mary Kathryn loved beyond measure. Caring for and loving JR and Olivia was her life's greatest purpose. She also deeply loved her fur babies, Jordan and Ranger, who brought immense joy, comfort, and companionship to her life.
Christ was the foundation of Mary Kathryn's life and guided everything she did. Her faith and family were not simply priorities—they were the purpose of her life. She lived with complete confidence in God's promises and demonstrated His love through her compassion, generosity, strength, and unwavering devotion to those around her. Whether serving her family, encouraging a friend, or simply offering a listening ear, Mary Kathryn reflected Christ's love in the way she lived each day.
Mary Kathryn's dedication to excellence began early in life. She graduated from Aldine High School in 1996, earning recognition as a Cum Laude graduate while also serving as the school's proud Drum Major. Her passion for learning and determination continued at Sam Houston State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting in 2001. Whether in the classroom, on the marching field, or throughout her professional career, Mary Kathryn consistently demonstrated discipline, leadership, and a commitment to doing her very best. She was an accomplished oboist, with the oboe serving as her primary instrument, and she was also a skilled flutist. Her love of music, combined with her academic achievements, reflected the perseverance, grace, and dedication that would become hallmarks of her life.
Professionally, Mary Kathryn dedicated 14 years of service as Senior Vice President –
Assistant Director of Card Finance at TIB Bank. She earned the respect and admiration of her colleagues through her exceptional leadership, integrity, unwavering work ethic, and commitment to excellence. While her accomplishments were many, it was the relationships she built that meant the most to her. Her coworkers became far more than colleagues—they became her second family. Through years of working side by side, they celebrated life's joys, supported one another through its challenges, and formed friendships that she deeply treasured. Mary Kathryn often spoke of them with gratitude and affection, and she was profoundly thankful for the love, encouragement, and unwavering support they shared throughout her career. She left a lasting impact not only through her professional achievements but through the kindness, loyalty, and genuine care she showed to everyone fortunate enough to work alongside her.
Those who knew Mary Kathryn will remember her for her warm heart, gentle spirit, unwavering strength, and ability to make everyone around her feel seen, loved, and valued. Her smile brought comfort, her faith brought hope, and her love will remain a lasting gift to all whose lives she touched. She lived each day with purpose, leading by example through her compassion, generosity, and unwavering devotion to God and those she loved.
Mary Kathryn is survived by her loving husband, Jason Don Robinson (JR); her cherished daughter, Olivia Robinson; her beloved dog, Ranger; her mother, Jeanne Dermody Guynn; her father-in-law, Johnny Lynn Robinsonand his wife, Edie; her sister, Elizabeth Guynn; her brother, Richard Guynn and his wife, Linda, along with their children, Sarah and Sean; her brother, Byron Guynn; her beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family, all of whom she loved dearly; and many treasured friends and coworkers whose lives were forever touched by her kindness, generosity, steadfast faith, and enduring love.
She was preceded in death by her beloved fur baby, Jordan; her father, Richard N. Guynn; her mother-in-law, Kathy Faye Robinson; and her little sister, Joan Guynn.
While our hearts grieve her absence, we find peace in knowing she has been welcomed into the arms of her Savior, where there is no more pain, suffering, or sorrow. Mary Kathryn's legacy of faith, love, strength, leadership, and unwavering devotion to her family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Her memory will forever be a blessing, and though she will be deeply missed, the love she shared and the example she set will never be forgotten
