Mary Catherine Stefanos' Obituary
STEFANOS, MARY CATHERINE RAINS our sweet and beautiful mother, grandmother and great grandmother died peacefully with her children and family by her side on February 16, 2013. Mary Catherine Rains Stefanos was born January 8, 1927 to Mary Ida and John Rains in Durant, OK. She is the 9th of 10 children; 5 brothers and 4 sisters that has preceded her in death. She came to Dallas in the early 50’s and worked for Colin’s Radio. She met Louis Stefanos at Parkland Barbecue on Maple Avenue. They fell in love and married February 2, 1956. They had 5 children, Julia Dimoulakis and husband, Nick; John Stefanos and wife, Cara; Dena Shilder and husband, Wayne and Elizabeth Tatum and husband, Chester; stepson Michael Baker and wife, Pam. Mary has 13 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her husband, Louis J. Stefanos in 1999. Mary was the most loving and beautiful mother her children could have in their lives each day. She saw and has been with each of her grandchildren births and in their lives too. How grateful our lives have been for her to see great grandchildren. She has been a part of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church most of her life. She was baptized by Father Peter Bithos. Prayer service will be at 7:00 PM, Thursday, February 21, 2013 at The Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Funeral service is 10:00 AM, February 22 at The Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church on Hillcrest and Alpha.
