Mary Margaret Van Shaw's Obituary
Van Shaw, Mary Margaret ~ Age 90, passed away in Dallas on February 1, 2011. Mrs. Van Shaw was an excellent teacher who taught 29 years at St. Marks School. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. She was beloved by all of the young people in her family for her talent as a story teller, and she always took particular delight in the little ones. Mrs. Van Shaw was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Van Shaw and her son, W.E. (Ned) Van Shaw, Jr. Also preceding her in death were her parents, Percy and Blanche Cowan of Enid, Oklahoma; three brothers, Eugene Jordan, John Jordan, Dr. Elmer Jordan; and one sister, Ruth Sifford. She is survived by a son, Lee Van Shaw; a granddaughter, Rebekah Solomon; two great granddaughters; five nieces, Mary Hildebrand, Nancy Hall, Rebecca Kinnard, Diane Baxter, Susanne Sparks; as well as nephews, Eddie Jordan and Stephen Sparks. She will be missed by her many friends and fellow members of Westminster Presbyterian Church. MM was a generous lady of remarkable grace who brought joy to those around her. Services will be 1:00pm on Monday, February 7, 2011 at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Presbyterian Village, 550 E.
