Mary Ruth Wright's Obituary
Mary Ruth Wright, 80 of Garland, Texas passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2015. Mary was born in McKinney, Texas to Joe and Susie Sartin. She married her husband Franklin in 1959 while attending Business School. Mary was an active member in her church, Freeman Heights Baptist Church in Garland for 45 years. She loved the Lord and she enjoyed studying and memorizing His Word. Mary was active in witnessing the Word of God to many that came into her life. At one time, she served in the capacity of Church Pianist and Church Secretary. For 45 years, she taught Sunday School to all ages: children, high school students, young single adults, adults and senior adults. She also participated in church camps and mission groups. Mary retired from Atlantic Oil and Gas after many dedicated years of service, where she served as Administrative Assistant to Vice Presidents and as an Oil and Gas Lease Negotiator. Mary received her Associates Degree from Richland College. She had a green thumb and loved to garden and watch birds. She was also an active walker walking 2-3 miles a day, 5 days a week. Mary is survived by her loving husband Franklin Wright, daughter; Karen Tillman and husband Massie, as well as many other loving friends. Graveside Services will be held at Restland Memorial Cemetery Friday December 11, 2015 at 11:00 a.m.. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary’s memory to Freeman Heights Baptist Church, 1120 N. Garland Road, Garland, TX 75040.
