Maryann Cullum's Obituary
On Sunday, January 10, 2021, Maryann Cullum, loving wife and mother, passed away at the age of 70.
Maryann was born on May 4, 1950 in Detroit, Michigan to Edward and Mary McElligott. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University (Go Spartans) and Master’s degree from Eastern Michigan University. She taught art in Michigan for several years before moving to Texas to work in interior design for 20 years, followed by three more years of teaching art.

She always had various projects around the house, whether they be painting, mosaics, scrapbooking, photo albums and other artistic things. A major stroke ended her professional career in 2005, but she continued with her many projects. She remained active with her college ZTA sorority sisters, attending several reunions around the country. She was also active with a neighborhood women’s group, making lifelong friends. She was known for brightening any room she entered.
Maryann is preceded in death by her father, Edward, her mother, Mary, and two brothers, Edward and Joseph. She is survived by her husband Ed, her son Tom and several cousins, nieces and nephews. She will always be remembered for her sweet smile and kind spirit.
Services will be held at a later time when everyone can gather safely.
