She was preceded in death by her husband, Leendert Van Straaten; and brother Harold Van Gilder. She is survived by daughters, Lilas McDonald and husband Jon, and Mary Patterson; granddaughter, Rachel McDonald; grandson Matthew McDonald; sisters, Sister Mary Van Gilder, and Blanche Hunt and husband Jack; and brother, Jim Van Gilder and wife Marianna.
