Matilda "Mildred" Moncibais' Obituary
A loving mother, Matilda was born March 14, 1925 in Laredo Texas and passed away May 8, 2023.
She married the love of her life, Herbert Moncibais Sr. July 31, 1944 and they were married for 48 years until his passing in 1992. Brother Rick Moncibais passed away in 2017.
She was a devoted housewife and mother and a member of the Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church since 1975. Her devotion to her Catholic religious beliefs transcended her life in every way, from a personal devotional alters to weekday church mass visits. She had a perfect beauty about her that could not be compared that manifested through being a faithful daughter of Christ’s own heart.
She had the most giving and caring spirit. As the matriarch of our family, she was always so strong, selfless, and loving. Her children and grandchildren adored her. She impacted all family members as she was quick to help in any all situations and matters and babysat hundreds of hours for all of the family.
Matilda is survived by her children: Janie Scott, Herbert Moncibais Jr. and his wife Gloria, Monty Moncibais and his wife Susan, Roy Moncibais and his wife Rhonda, Debbie Murphy and her husband Chip, Gloria Ince and her husband Jim, Melissa Gooch, and Sandra Moncibais. She had 18 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 5 great – great grandchildren. Brother Rick Moncibais passed away in 2017.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Juliana and Marcos Soto, sisters, Concha Serna and Maria Bondoc and bothers, Isidro Soto and Marcos Soto Jr.
