Matthew Ryan Hayes' Obituary
Matthew Ryan Hayes, age 50, died July 28, 2025, in Mesquite, Texas. He was born with special needs on October 28, 1974, to parents Ronald Mack Hayes of Hideaway, Texas and Edythe Eileen Thompson of Garland, Texas. He was preceded in death by grandparents Leslie and Lonora Hayes and Kenneth and Edythe Thompson.
From the age of seven he lived in facilities which could give him the exceptional care necessary due to his disabilities. His family is deeply grateful for the daily love and attention of the staff of the various facilities where he lived, but especially for the most recent agency and staff of Angel’s Service of Dallas, Texas.
Though he had only a child’s mind held in a body that could not walk or talk, he had a happy spirit that manifested itself with smiles, glee, clapping, and blowing kisses. He will be missed by his parents, his stepmother, Janet Hayes (Hideaway, Texas), brother, Philip Hayes (Lindale, Texas), and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A graveside service will be held at Restland Cemetery, Dallas, at noon on August 19.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to one of Matthew’s favorite places, Morgan’s Wonderland, an amusement/water park for special needs adults and children Morgan's Donate.
It is the same way with the resurrection of the dead. Our earthly bodies are planted in the ground when we die, but they will be raised to live forever. Our bodies are buried in brokenness, but they will be raised in glory. They are buried in weakness, but they will be raised in strength.
1 Corinthians 15:42-43 NLT
