Matthew Everett Parrish's Obituary
Matthew Everett Parrish was born September 4, 1987 and died on June 7, 2010. A genuinely good person, Matthew touched everyone with whom he came in contract, encouraging them to become better people themselves and to make a difference in human society. Matthew enjoyed many opportunities to live life to the fullest of his abilities from adapted snow skiing to adapted aquatics; from participating in Boy Scouts and earning his Eagle in May 2005 to playing in the North Garland High School Band. Matthew was an MDA team captain for many years at the annual Stride and Ride Walk. Most recently Matthew graduated from high school, receiving his diploma on June 3, 2010. Matthew lived a full life, despite being challenged with Congenital Myotonic Dystrophy, a form of Muscular Dystrophy. He was preceded in death by his twin sister, Jessica Leigh Parrish, his grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. Jack Parrish, and his uncles, James B. Fancy and John Wissler. He is survived by his parents, David and Sharon Parrish, his brothers, Jared Parrish and Phuong Bui and his family, his grandparents, Mr. and Ms. Lyman Fancy, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. A funeral service to honor the life of Matthew Everett Parrish will be held on Friday, June 11, 2010 at 10:30AM at St. Rita Catholic Community, 12521 Inwood Road., Dallas, TX. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Boy Scouts of America, 8605 Harry Hines, Dallas, TX 75235, the Achievement Center of Texas, 2950 North Shiloh Road, Garland, TX 75044 or the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 12655 N.
