Matt attended Wilshire Baptist Church as a child and retained his strong Christian beliefs throughout his adult life.
Matt began his schooling with kindergarten through grade three at St. James Montessori School. His middle school years were spent at Lakehill Preparatory School, and he attended the DISD Science and Engineering Magnet High School.
Matt had a strong interest in anything related to technology. In 1995 at age 12, he convinced his family that they needed to buy a computer. He quickly became very skilled, teaching himself MS-DOS before Windows was commonly used. As a late teen he went to work for Comp USA, becoming a sales rep for HP and earning a letter of commendation from the HP District Representative.
He later continued his interest in technology and earned two certificates in computers and networking. When he worked for a networking organization, he was not only successful at troubleshooting and restoring corporate systems, he was able to increase the company’s client roster by 25%.
Matt continued to hone his skills in sales and became the top sales rep for a large industrial sign manufacturer, leading the entire sales team by a large margin.
Matt always loved playing video games. He begged for a Nintendo game system at age four, but his parents insisted that he must wait until he was at least six. As an adult, he continued his love for gaming and had a group of gaming friends from all around the U.S.
Matt had an eclectic taste in music. He loved songs from a wide variety of genres, from Johnny Cash to Classic Rock to his favorite - Hip Hop.
On Father’s Day, June 15, 2025, at age 41, Matthew went to sleep and woke up in the loving arms of Jesus Christ. He is exceedingly missed by his family and all those who loved him.
