Mattie was the most caring and compassionate person that I have known. She was a true leader that was loved by everyone that she met. Taylor, I met Mr. George and Mrs. Karen Vetreese of Kansas City, and they shared the wonderful memories that they had of Mattie, and the warmth and glow of this family orriented Mother and society lady. She will truely be missed. There never ever will be another person like Mattie Louise Ford August.

I will miss my favorite teacher…she is so wonderful. I used to write her a christmas Card every year to keep in touch! I didnt know she passed away. I will truly miss a sweet teacher. I am thankful to have her in part of my life. I am thankful for her all what she has done for work with deaf for many years. May God bless her heart. My condolences to Mattie's Family, During this time of great sorrow, may it comfort you to know that others are deeply touched by your loss. I too know the pain of losing someone dear. Even though our hearts are broken, rest assure that our Grand Creator cares about you personally (1Peter5:7) and can help you though this difficult time. Revelation 21:4 speaks of a time soon when God will do away with death forever. There will be no more sorrow, heartache, or pain. Soror Mattie Nash was a wonderful person and a committed Delta. Every project she took on showed her committment, her intelligence, and her compassion for others. Her light as a Christian shone even brighter than her light as a Delta! After all, Delta was founded on Christian principles, which Soror Mattie modeled so well. Though I wasn't as a close friend of Soror Mattie, from afar, I have always appreciated her service to the Sorority and to our community, and have admired her much. As we mourn the loss of Mattie, we are consoled by the fact that she was such a warm, friendly, caring person with whom anyone she met would feel immediately comfortable.
