MATTIE LEE DAVIS, born September 12, 1913, in McKinney, Texas, and lived in Dallas, Texas, since the mid to late 1940’s, passed away December 17, 2011, in McKinney, Texas. She was a life-long member of Hampton Place Baptist Church in Dallas, and a Sunday School teacher for over fifty years. Retired from Reserve Life Insurance Company with thirty years of service. Known by close friends and family as Meemaw,” was preceded in death by her husband, George Raymond Davis, mother, Katie Kyle Shoemaker, father, Issac Reed, and brothers Weldon, Clarence, and R. Cliff, sisters Dossie, Rhoda, Leavia, Gertrude, and Earlene. Survived by her son, George Larry Davis and wife Mabel, of Dallas, Texas, grandson Jeremiah of Dallas, granddaughter Jennie and husband, Kelley, and great grandchildren Allen, Nikki, and Luke, from North Carolina, daughter Vickie Diane Kirby and husband Jack Tracey Kirby of Princeton, Texas, other grandchildren Terry, Palmer, Jerry, Mark, Cindy, Larry, Wendy, Matthew and Jessica and great grandson Samwise, great grandchildren Andrew, Justin, Amanda, Baylee and Sierra, Larry Wayne, Lauren and husband Juan and great, great granddaughter Vanessa, and all relative families, including many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.”
