Maude T. Collins' Obituary
Maude T. Collins, age 78, died February 16, 2021. She is survived by her daughter Tracy Collins, sister Edna Hicks and sister-in-law Kay Turner, several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl W. Turner and Dulsie Wellborn Turner, brother Morris Turner and long-time partner and love Dave Carmichael. Just a country girl…she studied to be a court stenographer, worked at Georgia Tech, moved to Boston with her then husband, became a mother and eventually moved to Dallas. As a mother and home maker she avidly volunteered for church and school functions and discovered a new love…tennis. As an empty nester she started a new career working in commercial property management, until she retired. As a retiree she loved to travel, was an endless volunteer and avid planner, organizer and leader. She always supported her church, was a docent at the Bush Presidential Library, a volunteer at the Presbyterian Cancer Center and an HOA Board Committee Member. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 20th at 10 a.m at Ridgewood Park United Methodist Church in Dallas, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to Ridgewood Park.
