Maureen Stepter's Obituary
STEPTER, MAUREEN BARKER was born on August 05, 1931 in Fairlie, Texas to Mr. and Mrs. J F Barker. She attended East Texas State before moving to Dallas, Texas where she met and married her husband, Norman Stepter, while working at Western Electric Company. At first she a secretary and then was promoted to supervisor in human resources until the divestiture. Maureen then went to work for her church, Wilshire Baptist Church, as an administrative assistant. She was a very active member, coordinating the Adventure Club, which was a travel club; she also was involved in many other aspects of church life, baptisms, lord supper, Sunday school, and served Wednesday prayer meals until her final retirement. In 2011 when she was diagnosed with cancer she was very active with traveling, visiting with family and other loved ones. She loved to travel, doing arts and crafts, cooking and being with friend. She loved her family and being around them, as they loved her. She will be sorely missed by all her family, friends, and her lady group. I will miss you and love you always, Love Norman The family will receive friends and loved one on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home. A memorial service to celebrate Maureen’s life will be held at Wilshire Baptist Church where she was a long time member and served on the staff. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Pathway Ministry at Wilshire Baptist Church.
