Maurice Anton Beshara's Obituary
BESHARA, MAURICE ANTON born January 22,1926 in Haskell, Oklahoma to Anton and Olga Lys (Karam) Beshara. Maruice (“Moe”) died August 5, 2014 at the age of 88. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lucy and by his 5 daughters: Teresa and husband, Jeff Myers, Connie and husband, Dennis Ricketts, Gina and husband, Colin Sledge, Andrea and husband, Michael Prothro, and Denise and husband, Frank Timphony. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren: Jason and Adrienne Myers; Erin, Jason and Hannah Ricketts; Christopher and Stefan Sledge; Jaret, Jaden and Jack Prothro; and Frankie and Joey Timphony. Moe graduated from Haskell High School and Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma receiving a BA in history. He served in the 393rd infantry in WWII and was awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. Moe worked in the liquor industry for many years. He owned a retail liquor store in Tulsa before becoming manager of sales in Texas for 21 Brands, Inc. In later years Moe worked at Sigels, preparing lasagna, spaghetti sauce and manicotti for sale in the deli. Moe was cherished and loved by all who met him. He welcomed anyone into his home as part of the “family.” He loved cooking especially Lebanese food. His sense of humor and uncanny wit kept his audience coming back. The “quarter” trick will be long remembered by his grandchildren, nieces, nephews and others willing to believe in his “magic. ” Moe was a patient, kind, sensitive, respected, husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was an avid sports fan that included his Rangers, Cowboys and Mavericks teams. His special circle of friends were his “Blitz” group buddies and his “Crossword Puzzle” comrades that met to solve the daily and New York Times puzzles and then, at times, the worlds problems. Funeral mass will be Saturday, August 9, 2014, at 10:00 AM, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 720 S. Floyd Rd., Richardson, TX 75080. Interment will be at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church.
