Maurine C. Grimes' Obituary
GRIMES, MAURINE, age 97, passed from this life October, 19, 2013 at her home at Parc Place Retirement Home with her daughter and granddaughter at her side. Maurine was born on June 17, 1916 in Roscoe, TX to Jim and Margaret Burchfield. She loved her family and loved going to church. She was a wonderful Christian. She was married to Jack Colquitt and they had 2 daughters. They were divorced and she later married Frank Grimes and they were married for 39 yrs. They took many cruises together and had a great time. She was a wonderful friend and was always taking baked goods to her friends and visiting the sick in her church. She made quilts for all her kids and grand children. We would like to thank her caregivers Kathleen Penner and D. Darlene from The CareGivers Group. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Frank Grimes, daughter, Gale Blackburn, 9 sisters and 3 brothers. Maurine is survived by daughter, Wanda Asire (Don), grandson, Greg Wortman (Mary), grandaughter, Valarie Brunson (Bobby), son-in-law, Patrick Blackburn, grandsons, Michael Blackburn; Russell Blackburn; 3 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren, and a few good friends but at her age most of her friends have passed away. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM, Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Restland Funeral Home. Services will be 12:30 PM, Thursday, October 24, 2013 at Restland Abbey Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Integra Hospice Care 315 Harwood Rd., Bedford, TX 76021.
