Mavon Katherine "Marty" Jordan's Obituary
JORDAN, MAVON KATHERINE “MARTY” We give thanks for our beloved mother who went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 5, 2012. She was born on October 8, 1919 in Renville, MN to George and Mathilda Martinson. She graduated as a RN from Bethesda Hospital School of Nursing in St. Paul, MN in 1941. She served in the Army Nursing Corp in World War II where she met her husband. She married Edward Meredith Jordan on June 1, 1946 in Huntsville, AL. She was preceded in death by her husband; brother, Jerry Martinson and sister, Joy Hertzenberg. Marty is survived by her four children, Kathy Manning, Nancy Thomas, Beth Cluff (husband Spencer) and Jim Jordan; six grandchildren, Jeff Manning (wife Michelle), Sara Thomas Munsterman (husband Chris), Kristin Thomas, Shannon Thomas, Jordan Cluff, Taylor Cluff; five great grandchildren, Jonathan, Caleb, Meredith Manning and Addison, Wyatt Munsterman; brother, Homer Martinson; cousin, Ruth Wittek; and her nieces and nephews. Marty often said, “God is number one”, and she shared that testimony with many people. She was an active member at Faith Lutheran Church in Plano and enjoyed her many friends there. She was loved by all who knew her. She loved serving others, watching sports and was proud of her Norwegian heritage. Marty loved her family and they loved her and even though she will be greatly missed by them, they are happy that she is finally at rest with Jesus. Visitation will be Sunday, June 8th, from 4-6 PM at Faith Lutheran Church in Plano. Funeral Services are Monday, June 9th at 10:30 AM at Faith Lutheran Church.
