Max Leo Linzey's Obituary
With hearts full of love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of Max Leo Linzey, who passed peacefully into eternal rest. Max was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, cherished brother, and faithful friend whose life reflected kindness, humility, and quiet strength.
Max was born in Aruba to his loving parents, Olivine Linzey and Gerrit Hendrik de Koning. He carried with him the values of family and faith throughout his life. He later pursued his education and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Kennedy Western University.
Max shared 43 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Lourdes Libiran-Linzey. Their love story began in a moment that could only be described as providential, on the seventh hole of Camp John Hay Golf Course in Baguio City, Philippines, when Max’s golf ball ricocheted and accidentally struck Lourdes’ leg as she stood behind a tree with a friend. What seemed like chance became a blessing, as their lives intertwined and grew into a lasting union grounded in love, faith, and companionship.
He is lovingly remembered by his daughter and son-in-law, Cindy M.S. Linzey-Zichem and Elvis Zichem, and their son, Keanu Zichem; his daughter, Cheryl C.R. Linzey, and her son, Denver Raper; his son and daughter-in-law, Ryan T. Linzey and Marcia Linzey-Dañe; and his son Michael Linzey.
His legacy also lives on through his beloved nieces and nephews, as well as his grandnieces and grandnephews, all of whom he held close to his heart.
Max dedicated 35 years of his professional life to Texas Instruments (TI) as a Financial Controller. His work took him across many parts of the world, from Curacao to Korea, the Philippines, and Taiwan, before retiring in Dallas, Texas in 2000. Through every chapter, he carried himself with integrity and grace, earning the respect of colleagues and friends alike. Max loved to travel, exploring the Far East, Latin America, and Europe, and embraced new cultures and experiences wherever he went.
Beyond his career, Max embraced life’s simple blessings. He loved the game of golf, often sharing it with his wife in couples’ tournaments. He enjoyed baseball and soccer in his younger years and found friendship in darts and bowling tournaments. Whether on the course, the field, or among loved ones, Max found joy in connecting with other people.
Max is lovingly remembered by his siblings: Sylvester (Tarcisius Sylvester Linzey), Jan (Jan Hendrik Norbert de Koning), Evans (Evans Gerard de Koning), and his sister Mirjam (Mirjam Yvonne de Koning). He was preceded in death by Sylvester and Jan. He is also survived by his uncle, Aubrey Linzey, whose presence remained a meaningful connection to his extended family.
Max lived a life guided by love, and his presence was a quiet blessing to all who knew him. Though he is no longer with us in body, his spirit remains, in the lessons he taught, the love he gave, and the memories we hold close. We take comfort in knowing he is now at peace, embraced in God’s eternal care.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate Max’s life will be held on his 85th birthday, May 18, 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Wildwood Chapel, Restland Cemetery - 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75243. Inurnment to follow at The Arbors at Wildwood Chapel.
Max’s life reminds us that love endures beyond this world. As the song he cherished, “Always On My Mind” by Willie Nelson, gently echoes, he will forever remain in our hearts. Never forgotten, always loved.
