Max Harlow Van Duser's Obituary
Van Duser, Max Harlow was born on February 15, 1924 in Fredonia, Kansas and passed away on March 27, 2013 in Garland, Texas. Max was a Ham Operator for many years at W5HWA, and was Chief Engineer for United Press International for 42 years. He served our county in the military from 1943 to 1946. Max met the love of his life Barbara looking though a donut hole at a YMCA function in Joplin, Missouri. He is preceded in death by his father, Gilbert Harlow Van Duser and mother, Blanche Loomis Van Duser; and sisters, Margaret Tharp and Doris Overman. Max is survived by his wife of 66 years, Barbara; four sons, Terry and wife Nancy, Kevin and wife Kay, Craig and wife Karen, and Bruce and wife Malinda Van Duser; two grandchildren, Richard Van Duser and Trisha Van Duser, and great children Tyler Van Duser and Brooklyn Ogolozik. Family will receive friends on Friday March 29, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 10:00 AM in Restland Wildwood Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to South Minister Presbyterian or a Charity of your choice.
