Maxine Lilley's Obituary
Maxine Lilley was born Hetty Maxine Davis to Oma Lee (Neese) and James Collon Davis on August 6, 1923, in Wetumka, Oklahoma, USA. Her family, including her sister Norma (Davis) Coday and brother Wiley Davis, moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she went to school and graduated from Central High School in Tulsa.She was a singer in her high school musical and a participant in the Miss Oklahoma pageant in 1942. She sang with Tulsa orchestras for several years.Maxine married Jack Allen Lilley on September 14, 1943. They spent their early marriage years with Jack serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II and after. They settled in Tulsa and raised three sons. The boys were always active in school sports and paper routes, and she could throw a paper as well as a baseball. They transferred to South Bend, Indiana, in 1962 and to Richardson, Texas, in 1964. Another move to Farmington, New Mexico, occurred in 1978-79. The moves may have occurred due to Jack’s work, but Maxine was a working mother. As a bank teller, she continued her family support in each location where they moved. Upon their return from New Mexico, they settled briefly in Richardson and then moved to Garland, Texas.Her husband, Jack, passed in December 1988 after 46 years of marriage. Maxine continued working until age 72 in 1995. She was an active member of the ESA Chapter Delta Delta for many years. She loved having oldest son Jack, wife Cynthia, and family, and youngest son Tom, wife Jo, and family living nearby. She also cherished her annual vacation trip to Indiana to visit middle son Jim and wife Brenda or seeing them on their annual trip to Texas.Maxine lived independently in Garland and Richardson until 2016 when it was necessary for her to move to Fort Worth with son Tom and Jo. After only a year, she moved to Legend Oaks nursing center in Fort Worth where she remained for her final years. Family was always the most important thing in her life. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother.Maxine is survived by her three sons and daughters-in-law; four grandchildren, Kimberly and husband John, Rebecca, Tommy and wife Jeni, Sara and husband Erin; seven great-grandchildren, Jaylin, Kate, Ryan, Katie, Brady, Lily, Colin; and one great-great-grandchild, Andreas; also, her sisters-in law Charlene and Belle.Funeral services for Maxine Lilley will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 11, 2019 at Restland Wildwood Chapel. Burial will follow at Restland Memorial Park.
