Maxine Irene Owens' Obituary
OWENS, MAXINE IRENE (nee Haggie) Maxine, “Max” was born in Highland Park, Illinois October 21, 1929, she passed away July 21st. Her family was among the first settlers of Deerfield, Illinois, now an affluent Chicago suburb. At 17, she married William Owens, Jr. who had recently returned from WWII, having served in the US Navy in the Pacific. Married 61 years, Maxine was devoted to her husband and raising her two children, Kathleen and William III. The family moved to Richardson from Chicago in 1964, and remained there until moving to Garland’s Oakridge community. Maxine was an integral part of the family’s staffing business ODESCO, until her retirement in 1990. Surviving Maxine is husband Bill, daughter Kathleen Venzon and son, William, III. Also surviving her are daughter-in-law Sue (Tudi), son -in-law Kenneth Venzon and three grandchildren, John, Duvay, and Sarah. She is preceded in death by siblings Delroy Haggie and Elizabeth Kraft. Those of whose lives Maxine touched will miss her strong will, quick wit, welcoming nature and most of all devotion to her family and friends. She loved being surrounded by her family and hosting family get-togethers. Services are pending.
