Mrs. Maxine Wulfjen's Obituary
Wulfjen, Maxine M., 88, a longtime resident of Richardson, died on December 8, 2011. Maxine was born on June 27, 1923 in Robert Lee, Texas to Jess Sinclair and Lela Adeline Craddock. She graduated from Robert Lee High School in 1940 and earned a Textile Engineering degree in 1944 from Texas Tech where she was Student Body President and a member of Tau Beta Pi engineering honor society and DFD sorority. After receiving an MS in 1945, she worked at a textile mill in West Point, Georgia. She married Robert E. Wulfjen on June 15, 1947. While raising her children, she was active in the PTA, Brownies and Girl Scouts, and First United Methodist Church, Richardson and enjoyed bowling and bridge. She taught science and math at West Junior High from 1966 until 1976. She loved needlework, especially cross-stitch, and worked part-time at Sally’s Stitchery. She also enjoyed traveling and crossword puzzles. Maxine was preceded in death by her husband; her son, Robert Luke Wulfjen; and her siblings, Mary May Wylie, Jay Craddock, and Bill Craddock. She is survived by her daughter, Lou C. Harbert; her sisters-in-law, Marian Craddock and Corkie Craddock; and her nieces and nephews, Dana Bear, Roberta and Garry Grau, Fran and Mike Lomas, Cilla Davis, Ann and Buddy Wells, and Frank and Fayrene Craddock. A memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Colorado City, Texas at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Retina Foundation of the Southwest in Dallas or a charity of choice .
