May Doris Withers' Obituary
Doris Withers, born August 25th in Honey Grove, TX passed away Saturday, April 23, 2011 in Dallas, TX. Doris was a long-time member of Gaston Oaks Baptist Church, formerly Gaston Avenue Baptist Church, where she served her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in many different ministries. She enjoyed friends, gardening, and sewing; but mostly she loved being a wife, mother, aunt, granny, and great-granny. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, Howard Withers; sisters Ima Fults, Erma Hensley; brothers Alton Fults, Bernel Fults, and Irby Fults. She is survived by her son Keith Withers, sister Billie L. Hammonds, grandsons Craig, Shane, Bryan, and Russell Withers, 6 great-granddaughters, 3 great-grandsons, and two great-great-grandsons. A graveside service will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at Restland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to VITAS Hospice Charitable Fund, 8585 N. Stemmons Freeway Suite 700 South Tower in Dallas, TX 75247,or Gaston Oaks Baptist Church at 8515 Greenville Ave. #S205 in Dallas, TX 75243-7038.
