Melanie Jan Patterson's Obituary
PATTERSON, MELANIE JAN was born October 21, 1957 and went home to her Lord on May 22,2014. Melanie was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. She loved her time spent with her grandparents in Royse City riding horses. Melanie loved the outdoors and enjoyed everything from snow skiing in the mountains to time spent at the beach. Melanie graduated from W. T. White High School in 1976 where she was an active member of many clubs and organizations including drill team, choir and student government. She attended Centenary College in Shreveport, LA where she was a cheerleader and a member of Zeta Tau Alpha. She went on to earn a Physical Therapy degree from UT Southwestern, Dallas. Her passion for working with geriatric patients was her favorite part of her profession. Melanie and Rick Davis were married in 1978. She devoted herself to raising their three beautiful children, Blake, Ryan and Ashley. Melanie was a loving/devoted and faithful wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. Her generous and loving spirit was felt by all who knew and loved her and extended to every animal she ever ran across. Preceded in death by an infant son, Brett Davis and her father, Bob Patterson. Melanie is survived by Blake Davis and Ryan Davis of Dallas, Ashley Ross of Honduras; two grandchildren, Aaron and Gracie Ross; her mother, Pat Patterson of Dallas and two sisters, Lauri Hainsfurther of Dallas and Carla Schattle of Plano. A Celebration of her life will be held Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at 2:30 PM at Restland Memorial Chapel in Dallas followed by burial at Royse City Cemetery.
