Melba Faye Bixler's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Melba Faye Bixler, a kind and loving woman who valued family above all else. Melba was born on July 17, 1929, and spent her life spreading warmth, joy, and a little bit of mischief wherever she went.
She is survived by her four grandchildren—Amberlee, Benjamin, Peter, and Eden—and her great-grandson, Theodore. She was preceded in death by her husband, Max, and her three sons, Robert, William, and David.
Melba had a sweet but playful spirit, always ready with a story for her grandchildren. One of her favorites was when she mischievously told Max that she had left the lawnmower running against the side of the house because he had forgotten to show her how to turn it off—despite already knowing how from her days growing up on the farm. Max rushed home faster than ever, making it one of the many stories that would be told for years to come.
Melba was an avid gardener, taking pride in the beautiful flowers and plants she nurtured. Growing up on a farm in Illinois, she honed her skills and had a special fondness for her prized wall of roses. She loved to share her passion for gardening with neighbors who would often stop by to admire her work.
Melba's legacy is one of love, laughter, and resilience. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
