Melba Loraine Frazier, age 95, passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2019. She was born on November 4, 1923 to Omar McCoy and Elsie McCoy in Blue Mountain, Arkansas. Melba married Martin A. Wood on September 8, 1996 in Dallas, Texas. She was a business owner of Names in the Mail for 43 years. Melba was a member of the American Legion Woman’s Auxilary Post 81.She was known for being active, exuberant, and a fun loving gal. Melba was loving, giving and a great conversationalist. She loved people and people loved her.Melba loved spending time with her best friend and husband, Martin, playing poker, shuffleboard, and watching the horse races.She was a successful business owner who continued to work into her 90’s. Melba often played the stock market and was rarely wrong with her choices.Melba is survived by her spouse, Martin A. Woods of Dallas, Texas; daughter, Judith Ashley of Dallas, Texas; son, Dan Harrison and wife Ellen of Austin, Texas; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Melba is preceded in death by her parents Elsie and Omar McCoy and brother Bob McCoy.Funeral service will be on Sunday, September 8, 2019 at 12:30 PM in the Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Visitation will take place one hour prior from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM in the Wildwood Chapel.
