Melba was born on March 31st of 1926 in Morley, Missouri. A year later, her family settled in Tyler, TX where she kept joyous memories of growing up with her family.
She met Dewey Green in 1945 at a fiddle contest and they married just 3 months later. In 1949 they moved to an apartment complex for married couples at Baylor University.
After graduation, they settled in Richardson, TX where she quickly became involved with the community. She wore many hats including wife, mother, kindergarten teacher, rancher, real estate agent, devout missionary and being everyone’s “nana.” Melba lived a full life of serving the Lord, traveling and enjoying her family. She wholeheartedly loved serving for Northrich Baptist Church, then later The Heights Church. Her hobbies included, but certainly was not limited to doll making, writing poetry, square dancing, playing bridge and hosting parties.
Dewey and Melba were happily married for 59 years with two children, Keith Green and Kimberly Green. She always put family first and boy, she had a big family! This includes 9 siblings, of which included 6 brothers and 3 sisters.
Susie was most known for, and proud of, the family she created. Her legacy will live on by her sister Maxine Ramirez, son and daughter in law, Keith and Melodye Green, Grandchildren Joshua & Alyshia Polando, Terrah & Zack Van Meter, Addison Green and Christine & Ryan Pedersen. 5 great grandchildren as well as host of friends and family members who will greatly miss her leadership and love.
Melba was a faithful follower of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and is now with him forever.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dewey Green and daughter Kimberly Andrews.
