Melissa “Missy” Dee Benson was born on October 5, 1974 in Texarkana, Texas and passed away on November 11, 2014 in Plano, Texas. Missy’s loves: Family and friends, especially the friendships made at Coppell High School where she was on Drill Team. Facebook and texting friends back and forth on her IPhone , cheering the Dallas Mavericks, Texas Rangers, Vernon, Texas, her dog (Topher). TV Shows (Watching with Jordan): Impractical Jokers, CSI, Vampire Diaries, Stalker, Shark Tank, Teen Wolf. Favorite Places: Hawaii, Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Palm Desert, California. Pastimes: Scrapbooking, reading James Patterson novels, listening to music (Keith Urban, Taylor Swift, Imagine Dragons, George Strait, Diddy, Michael W. Smith, Little Big Town), eating sushi at Bluefish, chewing on necks of old t-shirts, eating Starburst & Laffy Taffy, eating take-out. Favorite Foods: Stacy’s Pita Chips, pistachio nuts, sushi, tacos, tuna salad, watermelon, anything with “Cheese”. Places of residence: Vernon, Coppell, Plano, Dallas. Humor: Silly, Sick sense (sometimes), used facial expression to make one laugh. Education: Vernon Elementary School, Coppell High School. Employment: Dental Assistant (13 years). In spite of her life-long history of kidney illness, she was always ready to share a joke and exchange laughter with a friend. She will be remembered for her natural beauty, infectious smile, good sense of humor and positive outlook on life in spite of her own health condition. The visitation for Missy will be Friday, November 14, 2014 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Restland Funeral Home. The service for Missy will be Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 10:00am at The Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75238. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to: National Kidney Foundation, 5429 Lyndon B. Johnson Freeway #250, Dallas, Texas 75240.
