Melissa Maxine Sloan's Obituary
Melissa Maxine Sloan, 56, from Dallas, TX passed away on Tuesday December 1, 2015. She was born on November 13, 1959 in Dallas, TX to Betty Joan Williams Faegre and Robert Hillard Sloan. Melissa graduated from Hillcrest High School and went on to obtain her Nursing degree. Melissa took pride in her work has an RN and loved helping others in any way she could. Melissa’s favorite time of year was Christmas and she loved to decorate her tree. She also enjoyed spending time with her rescue dogs, Max and Tucker. Melissa, known to some as “Missy”, entertained all that met her with her hilarious sense of humor and larger-than-life personality. She had an enormous smile that was only upstaged by the size of her heart. She was the most loving mother and daughter. Melissa had an infectious spirit and a nurturing soul; she will always be an inspiration to her children and will be deeply and forever missed. Melissa is survived by her mother Betty Faegre, her brother Bob Sloan, her sister Cindy Malone, and her two children Eric Bryce Gurvin and Christina Gurvin. Her beautiful life will be honored at 12:30pm Sunday, December 6, 2015 at the Wildwood Chapel, located at Restland Funeral Home (at the corner of Walnut Street and Greenville Avenue).
